Bags, bags, and more bags…

It’s a safe bet that nearly everyone has a drawer, cupboard or pantry space dedicated to storing those plastic grocery bags. You never quite know what to do with them and only when you’re at the grocery store, are you reminded that your market accepts these bags for recycling. Pioneer’s own, Stephanie McCracken took the competitive approach and inadvertently offered to have everyone’s grocery bag stockpile recycled through an interoffice competition. The month-long contest began on December 1st and garnered almost 60 (yes, sixty) pounds of grocery bags destined for the recycling center. Our Meridian office was the big winner and will be rewarded with a fully-catered lunch. Competitive recycling…whoda thought?

St. Luke’s Women’s Fitness Celebration

The St. Luke’s Women’s Fitness Celebration is fast approaching as is the deadline for registration! KTVB-Boise has been promoting the event in recent weeks, so be sure to sign up before midnight on September 21st. The St. Luke’s Women’s Fitness Celebration (the Celebration) is a three day event encompassing a two day Women’s Show and a 5K Run, Walk and Stroll for women of all ages and all abilities.Founded in September 1993, the Celebration 5K has grown each year as more and more participants share the event with their families and friends. This year’s event will begin at the State Capitol Building in Downtown Boise. 2010 Relay For Life

Source: thebokeonline.com Today kicks off the 2010 Relay for Life benefit in Emmett, ID. The event runs today and tomorrow at the Emmett City Park. Since 1985, Relay for Life has benefitted the American Cancer Society and has spread to 21 countries world-wide. This weekend, hundreds will descend on Emmett for this great, worthwhile event. March for Babies – we're ready!

The time has finally come! This Saturday morning, hundreds of people (including PTC) will descend upon Julia Davis Park in Boise for the annual March for Babies Walk. Tomorrow marks the 7th year we’ve joined many many others in an effort to raise money for the March of Dimes and there is still time to join us! If you can’t happen to make it out for the Spring stroll (on what should be a beautiful day), you can still donate to the March of Dimes! Visit marchofdimes.org to find other upcoming walks and to donate to help the cause.

Be sure to check out the March for Babies route (PDF) for a full map of the starting point and checkpoint areas. Thank you for your support; with your help, we’ve raised almost $4,000 this year! We’ll see you all tomorrow morning – 9am!

The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is a community service project sponsored by Flynner Homes, KTVB Channel 7, WOW Country 104.3FM, and KWEI Hispanic Radio to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A newly-built home, along with other high-end prizes will be given away at the end of the promotion on June 27, 2010. Tickets are $100 and will go on sale April 1, 2010. March for Babies…

When you join us on the March for Babies, you give hope to the more than 500,000 babies born prematurely. The money you raise supports programs in many communties that help moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. You also help fund research efforts to cure the ailments that threaten our youngsters.

We have been actively involved in the March for Babies campaign since 2003 having raised over $18,000 to help fund research. In 2009, our own John Farmer and Lori Kortz were two of the top fund-raisers for the Boise walk. You, too, can help the March of Dimes’ March for Babies campaign by joining us…

We’re geared up and hope you’ll join us on for the 2010 March for Babies Walk on Saturday, April 24th at Julia Davis Park – Boise. For those that want to join team Pioneer for the walk, please visit our registration pageat marchforbabies.org. Fill in your registration info and you’ll be signed up. There is no registration fee to join the walk, but by registering online, you create your own March of Dimes profile page to share with friends and family where they can help you meet your personal fundraising goal.

Lacing up for March of Dimes…

2010 marks the 8th year Pioneer Title Company has been active with the March of Dimes. If you’re not familiar with the MOD, their mission is to:

…improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies’ lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.*

Since 2003, we’ve raised over $18,000 to help out the March of Dimes in their mission to improve the lives of thousands of families in Idaho and beyond. This year will be no exception!
